Patrick Beverley bumps Stephen Curry before opening tip (Video)
Houston Rockets point guard showed Golden State Warriors guard Stephen Curry no love before or during the game on Saturday.
Patrick Beverley has made a name for himself in the NBA as a player that gets under the skin of their opponents. On Saturday, Beverley tried his best to get in the head of the Golden State Warriors before the Houston Rockets took them on in Game 1 of the first round of the NBA Playoffs.
Before the opening tip, players will often shake hands with their opponents, but Beverley decided he wasn’t going to shake the extended hand of Stephen Curry and decided to bump chests with him instead.
Curry would then proceed to light up Beverley and the Rockets and Houston would appear checked out early on. The two would also get tangled up and exchange a shove, but it was a moot point in a game where the Rockets never really had a chance.
Beverley would be booed every single time he touched the ball and ultimately that was all he accomplished, as his attempt to get in the Warriors’ head didn’t really end up working out.
