Steph Curry injury update: Status for Game 2 vs. Rockets
By Josh Hill
Steph Curry twisted his ankle in Game 1 and created mass panic amongst Warriors fans.
The last thing anyone wants to see this postseason is an injury to a star player straight out of the gate. We watched it happen to Derrick Rose back in 2011-12 and to Kevin Love last season — and we thought it might have happened to the best player on th face of the Earth.
Late in the second quarter, Curry rolled his ankle and had to leave the game. After being attended to on the bench, he had to head to the locker room.
To be clear, this wasn’t something that might have kept Curry out of the game had this been something more important than just Game 1 of a first-round series.
Curry was on the bench for the rest of the Warriors dominating win, but he was hobbled rather visibly. He meekly limped to the locker room before the end of the game as to not get caught up in the crowds afterwords. This was not a good sign and might be proof that Curry needs to sit out Game 2 against the Rockets.
Let’s be honest here, the Warriors absolutely do not need Curry to beat the Warriors. He should just sit out as long as he needs to in order to ensure he is healthy once the playoffs start to really matter for Golden State.
