Thunder big men Enes Kanter and Steven Adams have t-shirts for the NBA playoffs that honor their mustaches
The Oklahoma City Thunder aren’t exactly a deep sleeper entering the 2016 NBA Playoffs, but they are a bit of a dark horse considering the two teams seeded ahead of them in the Western Conference. However, the Thunder have something that no other team in the postseason does: the power of the “Stache Brothers” in their frontcourt with Enes Kanter and Steven Adams.
Kanter and Adams have both been rocking the mustachioed look for much of the season with the Thunder, but they’ve stepped up their games for the NBA Playoffs. On Saturday as the postseason officially got underway, Kanter tweeted out a picture of the duo rocking t-shirts featuring outlines of their facial hair and labeling them the “Stache Brothers:”
Those poses are exactly what you expect to see from a pair of NBA players calling themselves the “Stache Brothers.”
If there’s one constant in the history of sports, it’s the power of facial hair in the postseason. We see it in hockey, baseball, football, and virtually everywhere every season—except for really the NBA. Perhaps the Thunder, Kanter, and Adams are onto something and the “Stache Brothers’” magical lip rugs will be what carries them past the Golden State Warriors and San Antonio Spurs in the West and all the way to hoisting the Larry O’Brien Trophy.
