After a miserable Premier League season, Aston Villa will now be taking a step down with relegation

For virtually the entire Premier League season, it has been nothing but a disaster for Aston Villa. On Saturday, however, things got about as low as they can get.

At the bottom of the table coming into their match with Manchester United, Villa was staring relegation right in the face. As a matter of fact, it was like standing on the tracks and seeing the train coming — it was only a matter of time. Well, following a 1-0 loss to United, Aston Villa will now be taking a step down to the Football League Championship next season.

Just a heartbreaking season for Villa altogether, and this was about the worst way for this to end.

To make matters worse, this is a first for Aston Villa. Since the Premier League debuted back in 1992, this club has never had to face the horror or relegation after a terrible season. But, as with anything else, there’s a first time for everything and now they’ll have to figure out how to get out of the hole next season.

Marcus Rashford scored the only goal for Manchester United in this one, sending Villa down a peg in the end.
