Luol Deng went off against the Charlotte Hornets in Game 1.
The Miami Heat are back in the playoffs for the first time since LeBron James was on roster, and they looked as ready as they’ve ever been to make a run.
Hassan Whiteside went bananas in Game 1 against the Hornets, and he’s rightfully going to be getting the bulk of the credit for the big win. But he wasn’t the only one to go off for Miami, as Luol Deng reminded us why we all loved him so much in the postseason.
It’s been a few years since Deng was on a playoff team, and his first game back in the postseason was a damn doozy. Officially, Deng finished with 31-points in 33-minutes on the floor, leading the team in three-point percentage on the afternoon.
Deng hadn’t played in a postseason game since Game 5 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals when the Bulls played the Nets. Needless to say, Deng was pretty ready to get back into the swing of things and went off against the Hornets.
Miami will host Charlotte in Game 2 on Wednesday night.
