The San Antonio Spurs started the playoffs with a huge win at home against the Memphis Grizzlies in Game 1.

106. 29. 74. 211. Final

The San Antonio Spurs believe they are the best team in the NBA and feel that they are going to win the NBA Championship this season. With the banged up Memphis Grizzlies being the Spurs first-round opponent, San Antonio wasted no time with the Grizzlies on Sunday night.

The Grizzlies held tough early on, but just like the Spurs always do, they began to wear the Grizzlies and their limited roster down in the second quarter. Kawhi Leonard and LaMarcus Aldridge were setting the pace on offense and both found themselves with double-digit points in limited minutes.

Tony Park sparked the back court with 15 points and 6 assists and set the Spurs’ next generation up for their points. By the time the first half was over, the game was trending toward a blowout.

In the third quarter, the Spurs finished the Grizzlies off for good so that their guys could get rest on the floor. Tim Duncan was able to rest the rest of the evening after anchoring the middle and picking up several boards.

The Grizzlies tried their hardest to hang, but without their best players, there was just no one that could provide the offensive spark to keep them in it. Vince Carter and Lance Stephenson would lead the Grizzlies in scoring.

In the fourth quarter, the Spurs would extend their blowout and the fans would go wild as they got their playoffs off to a hot start.
