NFL Draft Rumors: Titans looking to move back into top 10
By Jack Crosby
The Tennessee Titans might be looking to get back near the front of the NFL Draft order
This past week the 2016 NFL Draft received its first major shakeup. The Tennessee Titans and Los Angeles Rams pulled off a blockbuster deal that saw the Titans move out of the coveted No. 1 slot to the middle of the pack, while the Rams, making their first appearance in Los Angeles in a while coming up this season, now are officially on the clock.
With the king’s ransom that the Titans got from the Rams, some believed that they were content to stay where they are and work with that they have. Well, that might not be the case, as they might be looking to use that ransom for ammo.
According to Jason La Canfora of CBS, a number of executives that he’s talked to recently say they full expect general manager Jon Robinson to use what he has at his disposal now to get back into the top 10 in some slot.
Really, the executives that La Canfora has talked to probably aren’t wrong. The Titans were in a position to take a major position of need that high in the draft, mainly an offensive lineman to protect franchise quarterback Marcus Mariota. If they can use what they have from the Rams trade to get back in a better position to acquire that need, there’s really no reason not to make some phone calls.
There’s still some time left before the draft gets here the end of this month, but it’s looking as if this could be one of the draft where we see some major moves being made.
