NHL Playoffs: Panthers vs. Islanders Game 3 live stream: Watch online
Florida Panthers vs. New York Islanders
Following an exciting opening to the series, the New York Islanders will try to defend home ice against the Florida Panthers in Game 3 of the Eastern Conference first round playoffs on Sunday night at the Barclays Center.
Game 1 brought plenty of offensive fireworks, as the Islanders stole a contest on the road with a 5-4 victory on Thursday to open the series. The Panthers cleaned up their defensive miscues the next night with an impressive 3-1 win to even the series heading back to New York.
Florida’s potent offense has been led by its productive second line. Reilly Smith has three goals and two assists so far, while Jussi Jokinen has chipped in three points. Goaltender Roberto Luongo shook off a poor Game 1 to make 41 saves on Friday night against conistent pressure from the Islanders.
John Taveras has been by far the best player on the ice for New York, with four points and several highlight-reel plays so far. The Islanders also have to be happy with the performance of backup goalie Thomas Greiss, who has looked good filling in for the injured Jaroslav Halak.
