The future is bright for the USMNT as Christian Pulisic scored his first goal for Borussia Dortmund.
An important tournament in the Copa America Centenario is coming up for US Soccer, and while a lot of veterans are expected to be used in that tournament, Jurgen Klinsmann also has the future in mind. If they play their cards right, young players like Jordan Morris and Christian Pulisic can play an important role in the 2018 World Cup campaign, while the latter is already making a good impression on his national team coach by scoring at Borussia Dortmund.
The goal was his first in a Dortmund shirt, and given that he’s playing for such a high-profile club at age 17, it signals that the future is bright for him. A lot of American talent can be found in the Bundesliga these days, with Bobby Wood and Fabian Johnson also plying their trade there, but Pulisic could be the biggest star of them all when it’s said and done.
He only has one cap at the senior level so far, but if he continues to impress for Borussia Dortmund, it won’t be long before he starts impressing for the international team. It would be hard to argue against him earning a cap once he gets one, and he will certainly be a player to keep an eye on in the years to come.
