Here are the five MLB managers who are feeling the heat after the early struggles of their teams in 2016.

It’s a question that is asked by baseball fans and the media who covers the MLB every single season: which manager is going to be the first one shown the door and be fired to start off the year. As 2016 enters just its third week of games, there are already plenty of candidates for that “honor”.

It isn’t always the manager of the worst team in the MLB who gets canned early on. Sometimes, it can be someone who doesn’t get along with the front office, while in other cases it may be a manger who is just not meeting unrealistic expectations for the team…occasionally based on the team’s performance from the season before.

While there are plenty of candidates who fit into that second category (New York Yankees manager Joe Girardi, Houston Astros manager A.J. Hinch, Arizona Diamondbacks manager Chip Hale for example), a team’s futility on the field is a major reason why a MLB manager is shown the door. Here are the five MLB managers who are on the hot seat this early in the 2016 season.
