Alabama spring game draws higher TV ratings than NHL Playoffs

The Alabama Crimson Tide spring game was able to outdraw some NHL Playoff games this weekend

When it comes to sports, not just college football alone, there a few more notable names than the Alabama Crimson Tide football program. Having just captured  their fourth national title in the last seven seasons, when they’re on television playing the great game of football, there are a lot of people around the country who tune in to watch.

Now when you say something like that, though, you’re generally talking about regular season games or a bowl. But apparently, they’re a hot commodity even when they’re playing — well, themselves. Just how hot? All you have to do is ask the NHL.

It seems as if this weekend, the Alabama spring football game, A-Day, outdrew the NHL Playoff games that were on cable.

Of course, they didn’t beat out the games that were shown on the mothership that is NBC, but this is still an impressive feat nonetheless. NHL Playoff games are considered some of the best excitement in the world of sports that you can take in throughout the year.

But, it looks as if people were more concerned with watching the defending national champions hit the field in Tuscaloosa and play themselves for a few hours.

Really, this is just another example of just how polarizing the Alabama football program really is in today’s day and age.
