Boston Marathon 2016: Start time, live stream and more

The 120th Boston Marathon will be run today, but when will it start and where can you watch the action online?
For the 120th time, the Boston Marathon will be run on Monday through the heart of downtown Boston. It’s Patriot’s Day, which means the Red Sox will be in action at the same time and the city of Boston will be alive like no other year on the calendar.
Of course, it’s impossible to think about the Boston Marathon without thinking about the bombing that took place back in 2012. Something that was meant to damage the spirit of America instead has made Patriot’s Day more important to the people of Boston than it ever has been before and that’s going to shine through once again this year.
If you’re looking to follow along with the Boston Marathon this year, NBC Live Extra will be the place you want to hitch your live stream wagon to. It’s an early start time for most of the country, as the Marathon will begin at 7am ET and won’t conclude until later in the afternoon.
