NBA Playoffs: When is Clippers vs. Trail Blazers Game 2?
A look at when the Clippers and Trail Blazers will face off in Game 2 of their first round series in the NBA Playoffs
The Los Angeles Clippers and the Portland Trail Blazers began their first round series in the 2016 NBA Playoffs on Sunday night as the two teams squared off in STAPLES Center. What started out as a close contest between two teams with the outcome of the series seemingly up in the air turned into a bloodbath in the third quarter as the Clippers destroyed the Trail Blazers and ultimately took a 1-0 series lead with both teams now looking ahead to Game 2.
Obviously the first thing that the Trail Blazers are going to have to do in Game 2 would be to get better contributions from their talented backcourt of Damian Lillard and C.J. McCollum if they want a different result. While Dame was solid, he could’ve been better and could undoubtedly stand to see McCollum step in up in the postseason.
Staying in the backcourt, Portland will also need to slow down Chris Paul as he absolutely torched them in the first game of the series. The Trail Blazers also aren’t going to beat the Clippers in Game 2 if they fail to slow down DeAndre Jordan and Blake Griffin to the degree that they failed to do so on Sunday night.
With so many things that need to and could change for Game 2 of this first round series in the NBA Playoffs, many fans of the Clippers and Trail Blazers may be asking when the second game will be played.
Unfortunately, fans will have to wait a bit as there is a two-night break in between games—the Clippers and Trail Blazers won’t play Game 2 until Wednesday, April 20 at 10:30 p.m. ET. That game will be broadcast on TNT and will hopefully be more competitive after adjustments are made.
