Minnesota Wild hopes to prevent a 3-0 deficit against the Dallas Stars at 8:30 pm ET tonight at Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul.

Perhaps their home ice advantage in Game 3 will be the boost they so desperately needed to stretch out the length of this series. The Wild has clearly struggled on the ice without forwards Zach Parise and Thomas Vanek, who decidedly will not be returning the playoffs any time soon as they recover from injuries. In their absence, the offense has failed to produce with the puck, scoring a single goal in the last two games and generally refraining from making shots on goal.

The Stars, meanwhile, seems to be in the best shape of the entire year, with Tyler Seguin finally back on the ice and Mattias Janmark returning to tonight’s lineup. Though coach Lindy Ruff may hold Seguin off for a bit to ensure that he fully recovers from his Achilles tendon injury, the Stars otherwise are unhindered by injuries throughout the lines.

Tonight, the Stars will need to focus on being an offensive threat that the Wild’s lines cannot match, as well has holding strong in the defense against a confident host. John Klingberg and Stephen Johns have added skill and size behind the blue line, but it will take true grit and top-notch speed to prevent the Wild from getting a puck in the net. Tonight will likely be a ugly and aggressive game as the Wild attempts to win it at home, and the Stars must be ready to see a new, more invigorated opponent.

The game will be aired on NBC Sports Network and can also be streamed live on NBC Sports Live Extra.
