Russell Westbrook showed up to Game 2 against the Mavericks rocking a crazy all-white outfit
The Oklahoma City Thunder absolutely thrashed the Dallas Mavericks in Game 1 of their first round series in the 2016 NBA Playoffs. Of course, the Thunder were led by Russell Westbrook and Kevin Durant in the emphatic victory. Subsequently, Westbrook did what he always does and stayed true to himself coming into Game 2.
By staying true to himself, of course, I’m talking about Russell Westbrook wearing yet another one of his absolutely ridiculous outfits. His clothes of choice on Monday night as he arrived at the Chesapeake Energy Arena were an all-white get-up that of course looked absolutely insane—but 100 percent Russ:
This man is a national treasure. What other athlete or human being is going to show up to a professional sporting event wearing all-white and wearing a shirt that make’s your torso looks like it’s in pixelated 8-bit while the rest of your body is in high definition? There is no one else; there is only Russell Westbrook.
The funny thing is, though, is that Westbrook can 100 percent get away with this. If he was some guy buried on the end of the bench, he would be mercilessly ridiculed and basically run off of the Internet for wearing stuff like this. However, he’s one of the 10 best basketball players in the world right now, so he gets to wear the most insane things possible and just be himself.
We still make jokes—but they just don’t burn quite as much.
