Who is Stephen Curry’s replacement?

Stephen Curry is out for Game 2 of Warriors-Rockets, but who will take over point guard in his place?

The Golden State Warriors absolutely trounced the Houston Rockets in Game 1 of their first round series in the 2016 NBA Playoffs. It was an absolute slaughter inside ORACLE Arena, even with Stephen Curry succumbing to an ankle injury in the first half and playing through obvious pain for most of the game. The Warriors will have to survive much more than just a hobbled Stephen Curry on Monday night in Game 2, though.

Prior to tip-off on Monday night, the Warriors announced that Stephen Curry would sit out to rest his ankle injury so that he could keep going later in the series. The damage and the injury aren’t thought to be severe, but Golden State wants to take precautionary measures to make sure that they don’t mess anything up with their unquestioned leader and the reigning NBA MVP to where it affects them negatively further down the line.

With Stephen Curry out of the lineup, though, basketball fans might be wondering who’s going to play in relief of Steph at point guard on Monday night.

As it has been coming off of the bench as the backup in Golden State all season, Shaun Livingston will be the replacement for Curry and will take over the starting duties. Also, there will probably be more minutes than usual for LeAndro Barbosa off of the bench and Klay Thompson might see an increase in minutes as well.
