5. Derek Holland-Texas Rangers

“The Dutch Oven” will take the mound tonight after getting his start on Sunday rained out against the Orioles.  Instead, he’ll take the hill tonight against the Astros.  Holland was knocked around by Houston last season going 0-1 against them in three starts with a grisly 7.71 ERA.

He has pitched much better this season in the early going than he did last season, though, so I see him as a high-risk, high-reward play tonight. Holland looked really good in his last start which came in Seattle where he held the Mariners scoreless for 6.2 innings allowing just four hits while striking out four.

Holland will look to build on that outing tonight and reverse his recent fortune against the Astros.  Holland is looking for a bounce back season after multiple injuries, and he could take another step toward that goal with a strong start at home tonight.
