JaVale McGee ‘Crying Jordans’ Steven Adams’ called-off winner
Mavericks center JaVale McGee gave a picture of Steven Adams’ called-off game-winner the Crying Jordan business
The Dallas Mavericks were just fractions of a second away from falling down 2-0 to the Oklahoma City Thunder in their first round series in the 2016 NBA Playoffs. Had Thunder center Steven Adams gotten the ball a second earlier or let it go just a hair sooner, his putback attempt at the buzzer would’ve been good and OKC would have protected home court to take the commanding lead in the series.
As we all know, though, that’s not the way things happened. After going to the monitor to review the shot, it was clear that the ball was still in Adams’ hand when the buzzer sounded, thus giving the Mavericks the victory in Game 2.
Never the one to let a moment to troll someone else pass him by, Mavericks center JaVale McGee wasn’t long after the conclusion of their game to take to Twitter where he showed absolutely zero chill. Of course, he showed his lack of chill by giving the still of the Adams game-winner attempt the Crying Jordan treatment:
JaVale McGee in the NBA Playoffs needs to be an annual tradition if these are the gifts he plans on handing out to the masses. Make him like Jack Nicklaus, Gary Player, and Arnold Palmer starting The Masters every year—even if they aren’t playing, they still deserve a spot where they can shine.
Pierre/JaVale certainly had the chance to shine after this big moment on Monday night and he capitalized in a major way.
