NHL Playoffs: When is Dallas Stars vs. Minnesota Wild Game 4?
The Minnesota Wild will attempt to even the series in Game 4 against the Dallas Stars on Wednesday, April 20.
Despite a very early 2-0 deficit favoring the Stars, the Wild produced a brilliant comeback victory, finishing the game 5-3.
Wild forward Jason Pominville lead the team in Game 3, scoring two goals and an adding an assist. His game-winning goal with 46.3 seconds remaining in the second period gave Minnesota their first lead in their series against the Stars. Erik Haula contributed to the Wild’s first victory with one goal and one assist.
With the exception of LW Patrick Sharp, who scored two of Dallas’s goals within the first five minutes of the first period, the visitors failed to turn up on the ice. It’s true that Minnesota played far above expectations, but it seems wrong to give the Wild all the credit for their win; at the end of the day, the Stars’s deficiencies throughout the game led to their ultimate loss. Spezza and Benn failed to put in a solid effort, or at least a productive effort, during the game, and the defense behaved as though the Wild’s decently-paced offense was too fast for them to handle. Did Minnesota’s home-ice advantage get to Dallas’s head, or did they just not have the energy to play a quality game of hockey?
With this win, the Wild is one victory away from evening the series against Dallas. The teams will meet again on Wednesday.
