5. Donovan McNabb

Donovan McNabb was a mainstay in the City of Brotherly Love. He was drafted in 1999 to a chorus of boos as Eagles fans wanted the team’s front office to pick Ricky Williams over him. Yet, the decision was to draft McNabb who he led the Eagles to four straight NFC Championship games at one point and a Super Bowl appearance as well.

His career was going strong as Williams dealt with some issues on and off the field. McNabb also dealt with many changes to the offensive unit throughout his 11 years in Philly, but he found a way to become one of the best Philadelphia quarterbacks to play the game.

He still holds the top spot career wins, pass attempts, pass completions, passing yards, passing touchdowns in Eagles history. As a result, No. 5 has been retired and the quarterback was inducted into the Eagles Hall of Fame in 2013. Philadelphia would be a drastically different franchise if Any Reid didn’t find a way to draft the Syracuse Orange graduate in the 1999 NFL Draft.

When Eagles fans go through franchise history, there is no way they can forget about what McNabb and Reid did together throughout the 2000’s as they found success at both the Vet and Lincoln Financial Field.
