The Spurs buried the Grizzlies in Game 2 without even breaking a sweat
The Memphis Grizzlies were going to be facing a near impossible task no matter who they were up against in the 2016 NBA Playoffs just given their lack of health and lack of depth on their roster entering the postseason. No Mike Conley and no Marc Gasol is enough to bury any team, but even more so when it comes to a team like the Grizzlies. Unfortunately for them, they drew a matchup against the juggernaut San Antonio Spurs and the No. 2 seed Spurs had no interest in letting up.
After trouncing the Grizzlies in Game 1 at the AT&T Center, the Spurs came out and looked to do more of the same. While the Spurs offense was solid with LaMarcus Aldridge scoring on the interior and Kawhi Leonard scoring virtually from wherever he pleased on the court, it was the San Antonio defense against the limited offensive weapons of Memphis that really proved to be deadly.
Despite the best efforts of guys like Tony Allen, Zach Randolph (who struggled mightily to get his shots to fall for most of Tuesday night), and Xavier Munford, it was an ugly affair in San Antonio on Tuesday. The Spurs are a better team than a healthy Memphis squad, but itās not even a contest with the Grizzlies missing their two best players and Game 2 reflected that just as much as Game 1 did. The Spurs went up 2-0 in the series and havenāt even landed a full haymaker just yet.
