It’s almost scary to think what would have happened for the Bruins star defender had he not tore up his knee one month into his junior season in 2015. After the numbers he put up the first two years with the school, Jack could have been a legend on the West Coast.
The one positive to come with the injury (from a football angle) is that he dropped out of school to focus solely on his rehab and getting ready for the 2016 NFL Draft. While the cloud of the injury will hang over him until he can prove himself with the Browns or any other team, Jack is no longer the fragile question mark he was just six months ago.
The linebacker position isn’t one of serious need with the Browns (as they have a surplus of players and signed free agent Demario Davis from the New York Jets), but you can’t ignore the position about taking the best player at that spot. If Jack falls down to No. 8 (which might be a long shot), Cleveland will have to think twice about passing on someone who has All-Pro talent and intelligence.
