NFL Draft: 5 reasons Eagles should not have traded for the No. 2 pick

The Philadelphia Eagles made a shocking NFL Draft trade that they might regret.

The 2016 NFL Draft is a little over a week away and the rumor mill has been hot as usual. Trades have even occurred before the draft, which never usually happens. By far the most significant one was the Tennessee Titans trading the No. 1 overall pick to the Los Angeles Rams for the No. 15 overall pick, other 2016 selections and future picks. This was the first time that the top pick has moved since 2004, when the New York Giants traded for quarterback Eli Manning.

However, trades for the second pick might be even more unprecedented. The Philadelphia Eagles traded up from No. 8 to acquire the No. 2 selection from the Cleveland Browns. They are also sending a 2016 third and fourth round pick, a 2017 first rounder and a 2018 second round pick.

The trade is drawing a variety of responses from experts and fans alike.

This move questionable for the Eagles, though. To mortgage parts of the next three drafts for one selection may not have been their brightest move, especially if they’re supposed to be starting a new era after Chip Kelly’s firing.

So with the trade now official, here is a look at five reasons why it was a bad idea for the Eagles.
