Alex Gordon makes possible MLB catch of the year (Video)
Kansas City Royals player Alex Gordon made a ridiculous diving catch that is already one of the best of the year.
The Kansas City Royals are looking to repeat as World Series champions after defeating the New York Mets in five games in 2015. They are already off to a solid start in 2016 at 9-5 despite losing players like stud pitcher Johnny Cueto.
One player they nearly lost in the offseason was outfielder Alex Gordon. He ended up re-signing with the team on a four-year deal while drawing interest from other teams.
On Thursday night, Gordon would prove his worth during a game against the Detroit Tigers. He arguably made the defensive play of the year by running full-speed for the ball in left-center field, catching up to it, and making an amazing diving catch to save an extra base hit.

By the end of the season, we may be talking about this play as one of the best, so well done, Alex Gordon.
Through the first few weeks of the season, Gordon has a .245 batting average with 1 home run and 4 RBI. Not the best start for the veteran player, but it’s still early in the year. His performance will be key for the Royals to get back to the playoffs for a third straight year.
