Buddy Hield signs with agent of idol Kobe Bryant

Former Oklahoma star Buddy Hield has signed on with the agent of his basketball idol, Kobe Bryant, ahead of the NBA Draft.

Over his time with the Oklahoma Sooners, which included a run to the Final Four this past season, Buddy Hield has made no secret of his love and admiration for basketball legend Kobe Bryant. Hield wore the number 24 jersey with the Sooners as a way of honoring his favorite player.

Now, Hield is going to have a bond with his idol by having the same agent for the start of his career in the NBA. Buddy Hield announced he signed with the same agent who represented the former Los Angeles Lakers star during his career in the pros:

Hield got a chance to play in front of his idol this year, as Bryant was in attendance for games during the second weekend of the NCAA Tournament that were played in Anaheim, California. Buddy Hield and the Sooners dominated both Texas A&M and top seeded Oregon during that weekend to advance to Houston for the fifth Final Four in school history.

During his senior season in 2015-16, Buddy Hield averaged 25 points a game for the Sooners on over 50 percent shooting from the field and nearly 46 percent from the three point line, while winning both the Wooden and Naismith Awards after the season. He also averaged nearly six rebounds and two assists a game, so he already differs from his idol in being able to actually pass the ball.
