Jacksonville Jaguars – Maurice Jones-Drew (No. 60 pick, 2006)

The Jacksonville Jaguars did not exist until 1995, and that gives them a bit of a pass for not having a better collective history. However, the Jags certainly haven’t put together a ton of memorable performances (shout-out to Mark Brunell for some of them) and that makes this choice a bit more difficult considering a limited player pool.

While most of Jacksonville’s best players (headlined by Fred Taylor) were first round picks of the organization, one player slid far enough to increase his value in an NFL Draft sense. That player was Maurice Jones-Drew.

It seems wild that Jones-Drew is still only 31 years old but after being out of the league in 2015, we can accurately reflect on what was an impressive career. He rushed for more than 8,000 yards over eight seasons with the Jags despite being a part-time player for his first three years, and Jones-Drew was selected to three Pro Bowls. In addition, Jones-Drew led the NFL in rushing yards (1,606) and rushing yards per game (100.4) during the 2011 season and had a legitimate claim as potentially the best back in the sport.

Being drafted late in the second round helps your case for this list, and when you combine the fact that it was for the Jaguars, we have a winner.
