NHL Playoffs: What channel is Red Wings vs. Lightning Game 5 on?
Here’s where to watch Game 5 of the Eastern Conference first round between the Detroit Red Wings and Tampa Bay Lightning on TV.
The Tampa Bay Lightning have a chance to be the first team to advance to the second round of the NHL Playoffs with a win over the Detroit Red Wings in Game 5 on Thursday night at Amalie Arena.
Puck drop is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. Eastern on Thursday evening. Game 5 can be seen on NBC Sports Network, with coverage also available on CBC, Fox Sports Detroit and Fox Sports Sun.
Tampa Bay pushed the Red Wings to the brink of elimination on Tuesday night with a 3-2 win in Game 4. The Lightning scored three times on the Power Play, including two goals from Nikita Kucherov to raise his series total to a league-high five. Jonathan Drouin continued his excellent series in his return from a lengthy suspension, setting up all three goals with some nifty passing.
Detroit played very well in their lone series win in Game 3 on Sunday but was unable to recapture that energy two nights later. Petr Mrazek played very well in the previous two games in relief of Jimmy Howard, but the Red Wings were only able to earn a split at Joe Louis Arena.
The Red Wings will need to find some offense to get past Lightning goalie Ben Bishop, who has allowed two goals in all four games so far. Pavel Datsyuk has yet to register a point in what could be his final NHL playoff series.
