Pistons head coach Stan Van Gundy may not have been happy with Stanley Johnson’s comments.

Following Game 2 of the NBA Playoffs series between the Cleveland Cavaliers and Detroit Pistons, Stanley Johnson made an interesting comment. The rookie forward claimed he was inside LeBron James’ head, something that’s not common to hear someone proclaim about the star player of an opposing team.

According to Sports Illustrated, Pistons head coach Stan Van Gundy made comments about speaking to Johnson, but left it a bit vague.

"“I had a talk with Stan today, and so I’ll leave it at that. I told him what I thought about his comments and everything. That’s a discussion that we had today.”"

While not in-depth, these comments from Van Gundy may indicate that he wasn’t too pleased with what Johnson said. Making these statements about one of the NBA’s greatest players was questionable and could make for bulletin board materials for LeBron and the Cavs. King James will probably go full steam in Game 3 to get inside Johnson’s head and could be in store for a big game to push this to a 3-0 lead.

That’s another thing too. For Stanley Johnson to make these comments while the Pistons are down 2-0 makes this even more bizarre. He’s only 19 years old, though, so it’s a learning experience. We shouldn’t expect him to make any comments going forward, for now. If anything, the trash talking may come on the court for Game 3 and not to the media.
