Stephen Curry will not play in the upcoming playoff game.

In Game 1 of the NBA Playoffs series between the Golden State Warriors and Houston Rockets, Stephen Curry suffered an ankle/foot injury. He sat out most of the second half due to this.

Curry wouldn’t end up playing in Game 2 against the Rockets, which led to the Warriors winning. It wasn’t in convincing fashion but good enough to beat the deflated Houston Squad.

The Warriors will apparently need to do this again as Golden State sideline reporter Rosalyn Gold-Onwude is reporting that the possible 2016 NBA MVP will not play in Game 3.

Curry not playing is a big deal, as the Warriors will be tested once again without their star player. While they managed to win without him, doing this for two consecutive games may be tough. It will mean Klay Thompson has to carry the scoring load again, which they can handle. Harrison Barnes, Andre Iguodala, among others will have to play a big part too to take pressure off the Davidson product for Game 3.

Hopefully for the Warriors, Stephen Curry will be able to return for Game 4. However, if the series is at 3-0, they may not even need him. It might be better to just wait for the next series that will be against a better team than the No. 8 seed Rockets, who arguably didn’t deserve a playoff spot.
