Josh Norman uses security detail to enter Redskins Park (Video)

Free agent All-Pro cornerback Josh Norman uses a Secret Service like security detail to enter Redskins Park on Friday afternoon in search of a new contract.
All-Pro cornerback Josh Norman unexpectedly had his 2016 Carolina Panthers franchise tag rescinded after Panther general manager Dave Gettleman didn’t think the 29-year-old corner was worth the money he was commanding.
Norman is coming off his best season as one of the key pieces of the 2015 Panthers team that went 15-1, but lost in Super Bowl 50 to the AFC’s Denver Broncos at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California on February 7th.
Now an unrestricted free agent and able to sign with any of the 32 teams in the NFL, Norman is the most interesting and lucrative player available on the open market in late April 2016. Norman is so coveted apparently that he needs a three-car convey and a security detail to enter Redskins Park Friday.
It’s safe to say that Norman is easily in the midst of his prime as an NFL player. He emerged in 2015 as one of the game’s premier shutdown cornerbacks. At times, it was better for a quarterback’s passer rating to spike the football in the ground repeatedly than to target Norman on the outside.
Washington seems like a logical fit for Norman to sign, as the Redskins are still probably the team to beat in the weak NFC East and they do have a big need for an upgrade in their secondary. Washington displayed a strong front seven in 2015, but at times were lacking the dynamic playmakers in the back-end. Norman could be a huge boost for the Redskins in 2016 should he sign with Washington.
Will Washington’s general manager Scot McCloughan get the premier NFL free agent to sign on the line for a new deal in 2016? Regardless of if Washington does end up signing Norman, we now know that Norman can and will arrive in style with an armada of black Cadillac Escalades and Chevy Tahoes.
