Report: Josh Norman agrees to deal with Redskins

According to a report, free agent cornerback Josh Norman has agreed to a deal with the Washington Redskins.

After the Carolina Panthers decided to rescind their franchise tag from Josh Norman in a stunning move, the free agent cornerback didn’t last too long on the market. With several teams after Norman, he had multiple offers and ultimately got to play his cards on where he wanted to go.

With the Washington Redskins bringing him in for a visit on Friday, the team rolled out the red carpet to make sure they secured his services. They sent a plane to pick him, drove him to the facility in a fancy vehicle and according to Ian Rapoport, have given him a five-year deal worth $75 million, which is exactly what he wanted.

While the Panthers had the money to pay Norman a deal like this, they have plenty of players on their roster that are going to be in line for extensions soon and this type of deal could have seriously depleted their depth at other position.

The Redskins meanwhile are on the upswing of things after winning the NFC East last year and adding a physical, superstar cornerback like Norman to the roster could be just what they need to contend in the NFC East yet again. His battles with Odell Beckham Jr. and Dez Bryant will make every game worth watching.
