What time does Gennady Golovkin vs Dominic Wade start?
By Jack Crosby
Gennady Golovkin will be stepping back into the ring on Saturday to face Dominic Wade
Right now, there are few bigger names in the sport of boxing than Gennady Golovkin. GGG has taken the entire sport by storm, and on Saturday night we will all have the pleasure of watching him once again.
Saturday night out in California, Golovkin will take his 34-0 record with 31 of those wins coming by way of knockout into the ring to face an up-and-comer in the sport and someone who’s also undefeated, Dominic Wade (18-0, 12 KO).
It’s not the fight that a lot of people wanted to see, but it’s what Golovkin has to take anyway. Of course, we all want to finally see the showdown with Canelo Alvarez, which may very well happen some time later this year or early next year. Should GGG emerge victorious on Saturday and Alvarez takes care of Amir Khan on May 7, there may be no choice other than for these two to throw down in the center of the ring.
But, that’s not right now. On Saturday night Golovkin’s latest challenge comes in the form of Wade, who will no doubt be looking to shock the world and end the dominant run of Golovkin that he’s been on.
Now, some of you may be wondering just when you can tune in to HBO to watch this fight on Saturday night. Many people don’t care all that much for the under card bouts and just want to watch the main event.
Well, the card begins at 10:00 PM ET, so you can expect Golovkin and Wade to get into the ring with one another some time around 11:30 PM – Midnight ET.
