NHL Playoffs: Penguins advance, fans react on Twitter
Pittsburgh Penguins fans all over Twitter reacted to their team beating the New York Rangers in Game 5 to advance to the second round of the playoffs.
The Pittsburgh Penguins advanced to the second round of the playoffs after blowing out the New York Rangers 6-3 in Game 5. Pens fans had to be nervous going into the game after what happened in 2014 when the Rangers came back from a 3-1 deficit against Pittsburgh to beat them in the second round of the playoffs. That nervousness turned into pure adulation and joy thanks to a four-goal second period that led the way to Pittsburgh’s victory in Game 5.
While Pens fans now must wait and see who they face between the Washington Capitals and Philadelphia Flyers, here are some of the best tweets from Penguins fans as they celebrated and reacted on Twitter to an unforgettable and dominant series win. Of course, someone had to give Rangers goaltender Henrik Lundqvist the crying Jordan treatment and Pens fans did not disappoint.
There were also some very confident and cocky tweets, as Pens fans have every reason to feel confident after disposing of the Rangers.
Mostly, it was just a gif party. Gif parties are always an acceptable way to express yourself on Twitter!
