Odell Beckham Jr. subtweets massive shade at Josh Norman

New York Giants’ Odell Beckham, Jr. fires a nasty subtweet at cornerback Josh Norman, who signed a massive five-year deal with rival Washington Redskins.
The NFC East rivalry between the New York Giants and the Washington Redskins has always been feisty. However, this intra-divisional rivalry intensified exponentially when former Carolina Panthers All-Pro cornerback Josh Norman signed a five-year deal worth $75 million with Washington on Friday evening.
Norman’s biggest on-field rival happens to be Giants elite wide receiver Odell Beckham, Jr. These two dominant perimeter players in the NFL had a skirmish for the ages in Week 15 of the 2015 NFL season. Norman may have made the first move in signing with Washington, but Beckham fired out a caustic subtweet in Norman’s direction on Friday night.
What Beckham was getting at was that Norman chose money over winning a Super Bowl in leaving the best team in the NFC in the Panthers to sign with a good, but not great Redskins team in the NFC East. While Washington is still the presumed favorite to win the weak NFC East again in 2016, New York has made upgrades to their defense to pose as perhaps Washington’s biggest threat in the division.
Expect the rivalry between New York and Washington to amplify in the coming months. Both NFC East teams will play twice in 2016. The first matchup is on September 25th at MetLife Stadium in Week 3. New York and Washington are again paired up for the Week 17 season finale on January 1st at FedEx Field.
Both games on the gridiron will be high-stakes affairs for both teams, as they fight for the division crown. Expect the home team to win both games in a season series split. However, the matchup between Beckham and Norman on the outside when the Giants are on offense is now must-see television.
