NFL Draft: 5 reasons Cowboys taking Ezekiel Elliott makes sense

The Dallas Cowboys might want to take Ezekiel Elliott on Thursday, and maybe it makes sense

When Thursday rolls around the NFL Draft is upon us, we’re going to be given a sight that we’re not used to normally seeing, that being the Dallas Cowboys picking at the front of the pack. With their abysmal, injury-riddled 2015 season they have been gifted the No. 4 overall pick in the draft on Thursday night.

Now, with this being the case, there are a variety of ways they can go, and one of the rumored players they’re interested in is former Ohio State running back Ezekiel Elliott. Yes, the Cowboys drafting a running back as high as No. 4 is certainly a possibility, and it’s even recently been reported that Jerry Jones is interested in making this happen, mainly so he can recreate the “Triplets” with Elliott, Romo and Dez Bryant in the hopes that they can have as much success as Troy Aikman, Emmitt Smith and Michael Irvin had.

Might sound crazy to some, but Jones seems all in on the idea and it actually working.

Still, no matter what the intentions, people still see the Cowboys taking Elliott at No. 4 as just too big of a risk to take, and maybe it is.

But then again, maybe this could be a move Jones makes that makes him look like a genius in the end and helps the Cowboys get over the hump in the playoffs, which barring health issues again, is a place they should be returning this coming season.

So, why should the Cowboys go ahead and take this chance on the back from Columbus?
