Mark Cuban doesn’t think Russell Westbrook is a superstar
Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban doesn’t think Oklahoma City Thunder guard Russell Westbrook is a superstar.
The Dallas Mavericks and Oklahoma City Thunder have gotten into enough scrums and picked up enough technical fouls against each other in the first round of the NBA Playoffs that’s it safe to say that neither side really likes the other at all.
While the two teams playing each other enough is a good enough reason for them to not like each other, there’s been a lot of chirping this series and Thunder guard Russell Westbrook has been at the forefront with dancing routine before games that has irked many Mavericks.
Before the Thunder take on the Mavericks in Game 5 of the first round, where Oklahoma City could eliminate Dallas, Mavericks owner Mark Cuban made a strong statement about Westbrook. Cuban told reporters that Kevin Durant is the Thunder’s only superstar and said that Westbrook is just an All-Star and not a superstar.
While anyone that has seen Westbrook play knows that he is a superstar, it’s great to see Cuban stir things up and trying to get both sides fired up. The playoffs are all about rivalry and animosity. No one should like their opponent and the battles should be physical.
Whether or not Cuban actually believes what he is saying is one thing, but when Westbrook is a free agent in 2017, Cuban can probably scratch the Mavericks right off the list.
