The Atlanta Braves are reportedly doing whatever it takes to get rid of Hector Olivera after his recent arrest for an alleged domestic dispute.

For one month last season, it appeared the Atlanta Braves finally had an answer to some of their problems. After acquiring former Cuban National Team star Hector Olivera from the Los Angeles Dodgers in a three team deal that also included the Miami Marlins, the Braves were eager to see what the prospect could do.

In 24 games last season, Olivera batted over .250 to go along with two home runs and the hope that the Braves would have a big bat to help get them out of their losing ways. Six games into the 2016 season, all that changed when Olivera was arrested outside a Washington, D.C. hotel following an alleged domestic dispute involving a woman.

Now, it appears as if the Braves can’t get rid of Olivera fast enough, according to sources telling Yahoo! Sports:

"Olivera is signed through 2020 for $34.5 million, a hefty sum for a player without even 100 major league at-bats and with an alleged domestic-violence rap. Said one executive whom the Braves queried about any interest in Olivera: “I can’t believe they even asked.”"

Olivera is on the MLB restricted list through at least May 3 and will likely be suspended for at least one month regardless of the case’s outcome (precedent set by the league in dealing with a similar situation involving New York Yankees closer Aroldis Chapman).

Before his incident in which he is alleged to have attacked a woman at that hotel while the Braves were in town to play the Washington Nationals, Olivera was hitting just .211 this season with four hits and five strikeouts in just 19 at bats.
