California. Jared Goff. 1. player. 51.
With the Rams potentially mortgaging their organizational future to move up to number one in this year’s draft, there is zero question as to whether the team will invest in a quarterback. There is, however, some debate about which signal-caller will land in Los Angeles.

In the interest of full disclosure, I am a Carson Wentz guy. That has been a consistent theme throughout the draft season, and with all things equal, I favor Wentz over Jared Goff. Still, things are not equal here, and that swings things in the direction of the former California product.

Goff is much “safer” when it comes to playing right away, and that comes into play for the Rams. Los Angeles will likely ask its first-round investment to start right away or, at the very least, be ready to start from Week 1 given the situation the franchise is in with a new market. Goff is the more accurate passer that also played at a higher college level, and because this is basically a tie in the minds of most folks, that experience and readiness serves as the difference in his direction.

The Rams may go for the upside pick and that is Wentz, but the smart money is on the safer pick in this spot.
. QB
