Russell Westbrook cusses at fan during Game 4 (Video)
Oklahoma City Thunder guard Russell Westbrook cussed at a fan sitting near the Thunder in Dallas.
The series between the Oklahoma City Thunder and Dallas Mavericks has been as chippy as ever between the two teams. While the Thunder have been the superior team in the series, neither side likes each other from the countless battles that they have had on the court and in the playoffs with each other.
In just about every game this series, there has been some sort of skirmish on the court and it has either resulted in a technical or someone getting kicked out, like Kevin Durant in Game 4 of the first round. Westbrook was also getting into it with a fan sitting on the floor Saturday night.
It appeared the fan was saying something to Westbrook who responded, “Just sit down with your wife and shut the (expletive) up.” A video has emerged of the incident that took place.
Kevin Durant would come over and pull Westbrook away immediately and the situation would be over.
It’s probably not a good thing for the NBA to have their players, let alone a superstar like Westbrook, yelling expletives at fans during games. While the fan may have gone over the line and deserved it, it can’t be something that is done from a player on the court.
There are plenty of bad fans out there that players want to strangle sometimes and while Westbrook didn’t really lose his cool exactly, he probably would have been fine in this situation without the expletive.
The good news is that with the series heading back to Oklahoma for Game 5 on Monday night, the Thunder can finish the series off and Westbrook won’t have to worry about going back to Dallas.
