John Leguizamo and Adam Mucci’s short film ‘Porzingod’ captures the pain of New York Knicks fans in hilarious fashion.
Not too many fans go through the ridicule and pain that New York Knicks fans do. Although the franchise has won multiple championships and saw a great decade of basketball in the 90’s, things just haven’t been the same for New York since and the team is hoping that things will turn around soon behind Knicks’ sensation Kristaps Porzingis.
As a rookie, Porzingis was one of the most polished players in the league and he became an instant impact player for the Knicks from the very first game. As the season wore on, it was clear that he was the future of the franchise as Carmelo Anthony continues to get altar.
With Porzingis being the thing that Knicks fans put their faith in now, there is a short film that accurately portrays just how they feel about Porzingis.
Conor Byrne has written and directed a short film titled Porzingod, which features John Leguizamo and Adam Mucci, who go to an altar to pray to Porzingis.
The film debuted at the Tribeca Film Festival and it has become an instant hit. The duo both list off all the great moments of being Knicks fans along with the bad moments of being a Knicks fans.
All they want is the success that the team used to have back in the 90’s and before then when they won a couple of titles in the 70’s. At the end, the video reveals that they are praying to a big picture of Porzingis.
The film is hilarious and also completely accurate.
