Steph Curry has Grade 1 sprain, out for two weeks
By Josh Hill
Steph Curry is only going to miss two weeks with a Grade 1 knee sprain.
The last thing the Warriors needed was to have something happen to Steph Curry. After 73-win season, things are starting to fall apart for the Dubs in the 85th game of the year. Perhaps it’s just things finally catching up to them or perhaps it’s hubris, but the Warriors are going to have to press on in the NBA Playoffs without a healthy Curry.
Late in the second quarter of Game 4 against the Rockets, Curry slipped on a wet spot on the court and took an awkward fall. He limped off the court and didn’t return to the game.
The initial fear was that Curry had torn his ACL, but that was premature at the moment. Fans pointed to ht e fact that Curry was jogging to the locker room as an indication the injury might have been as bad as we were fearing, but Curry didn’t return to the game and things aren’t looking good.
Thankfully, it was only a Grade 1 sprain and Curry will miss two weeks.
It’s beyond unbelievable that the Warriors were playing Curry in a series that the Rockets clearly aren’t interested in winning, especially after we already had an injury scare in Game 1. Losing Curry in this series against Houston would be a blessing in disguise as the Dubs need him to win a title, not creep out of the first round.
