A full 7-round 2016 NFL mock draft for the defending NFC Champions, the Carolina Panthers

The Carolina Panthers have to be thinking about back-to-back trips to the Super Bowl, only with a different result in mind in their second trip. After losing only one game in the regular season and then rolling through the NFC in the postseason, the Panthers were trounced in the Super Bowl by the Denver Broncos in pretty emphatic fashion. Now, through the 2016 NFL Draft, getting healthy, and other means this offseason, Carolina is looking to make the necessary improvements to get back to that spot and win this time around.

However, the most recent news about the Panthers actually revolves around them losing one of the biggest parts of their dominant defense. After initially hitting cornerback Josh Norman with the franchise tag, they then rescinded the offer and Norman went on to sign a massive deal with the Washington Redskins.

That obviously leaves a hole at cornerback heading into the 2016 NFL Draft and the rest of the offseason and you have to imagine that’s one area the Panthers will look to address. In addition, Carolina will likely look to add some depth and help at offensive tackle coming into the 2016 season and will also look to beef up their depth in regards to skill position players, at running back and wide receiver specifically.

With six picks in the draft—they don’t have a selection in Round 6—the Panthers will certainly have the opportunity to make those things happen in Chicago starting April 28. Let’s take a look at what the Carolina Panthers might do in this 7-round 2016 NFL mock draft for the defending NFC Champions.
