Chris Paul suffers fractured hand vs Blazers
The prognosis on Chris Paul’s hand couldn’t have been any worse.
Chris Paul appeared to have suffered a wrist or hand injury during Game 4 of the Los Angeles Clippers’ series against the Portland Trail Blazers. He hit it into Blazers defender Gerald Henderson as the guard was driving to the basket and immediately left the game.
Unfortunately for the Clippers, the news couldn’t be worse. CP3 suffered a fractured hand and won’t return in the game, according to Rowan Kavner of Clippers.com There is no word on his status for the rest of the series.
This is terrible news for the Clippers who were already struggling a bit against the Blazers. Now it leaves them vulnerable to losing in the first round and missing a chance to face the Golden State Warriors, who probably won’t have Stephen Curry for the first few games of the series (pending they beat the Houston Rockets).
The Clippers will not be led by Blake Griffin, who apparently is dealing with a re-aggravated quad injury. He returned to the game, but that will be something for Los Angeles to be concerned about.
Chris Paul will certainly be missed by the Clippers, as they will need other players to step up. Who that could be remains to be seen.
