When Jake Arrieta pulled off his latest feat of pitching mastery, the Los Angeles Dodgers decided to have a little fun at his victim’s expense. After the Chicago Cubs’ ace completed his no-hitter of Cincinnati last Thursday, the Dodgers fired off the following cheeky tweet:

To which the Reds, in the right spirit, responded:

The joke, of course, is that the Dodgers knew just how the Reds were feeling, having themselves been no-hit by the 2015 National League Cy Young Award winner the previous August. Only 11 regular-season starts separated achievements that most pitchers strive to attain even once in their careers. And the way Arrieta is dominating hitters, there could be more members of the no-hitter support group by the end of this season.

Now you can show your appreciation of Arrieta, and your Cubs fandom, all summer long with this T-shirt from our partners at BreakingT.
