NBA Rumors: Chandler Parsons recruiting Dwight Howard to Mavericks

Chandler Parsons is already planning on luring Dwight Howard to the Dallas Mavericks in NBA free agency.

Dwight Howard is likely playing his final game(s) with the Houston Rockets who trail the Steph Curry-less Golden State Warriors 3-1 in their first round series, but he may not have to travel far to find his next NBA team.

Howard is expected to opt out of his contract and become a free agent when the season ends and his former Rockets teammate, Chandler Parsons, is already planning for a reunion.

Parsons and Howard played together with the Rockets during the 2013-2014 season and Parsons believes Howard is going to be a free agent who can still dominate and thinks the Dallas Mavericks are where he should call home.

‘I think he can still dominate the game,” Parsons said of Howard, via ESPN, who had an inconsistent season with the Rockets at age 30, according to ESPN. “I think he can still be a great player in this league. And I think he’s going to leave Houston, so why not come here?”

Howard isn’t the same elite player he was during his prime, but he still has plenty of value and could be the missing piece for the Mavericks who could add Howard to a frontcourt featuring Dirk Nowitzki.

While the Mavericks would seem to be a natural fit after failing to sign defensive-oriented center DeAndre Jordan last year in free agency, they will face competition from a number of teams who are eyeing Howard as their missing piece too.
