The Baltimore Ravens are reportedly very interested in drafting Joey Bosa with the sixth overall pick in the NFL draft.
After a disappointing season filled with injuries, the Baltimore Ravens find themselves with a rare high draft pick. The Ravens haven’t drafted as high as sixth since the 2000 NFL Draft, and have only owned a top five pick three times in their history (1996, 1997, and 2000).
The Ravens need to nail this draft pick as they look to rebuild quickly. According to ESPN, they are focusing most of their attention on Joey Bosa from Ohio State.
From ESPN:
"Bosa’s high motor and competitive attitude is what the Ravens often covet in draft picks. Ravens officials recently expressed confidence in Bosa’s ability to switch from a 4-3 college defensive end to a 3-4 NFL outside linebacker. If Bosa is taken in the top five, the Ravens favor taking pass-rushers Shaq Lawson from Clemson or Leonard Floyd from Georgia, the source added."
It sounds like, if Bosa is gone at the number six spot, the Ravens will likely trade down since neither Lawson or Floyd is projected to go in the top 10 of the draft. Baltimore’s biggest need is without question their pass rush. Even if Terrell Suggs and Elvis Dumervil are healthy, they are aging. More depth is desperately needed. Bosa would serve as the heir apparent to Suggs, who has been one of the better pass rushers in the NFL since joining the league.
