NFL Rumors: Sam Bradford doesn’t want trade to 49ers because of Chip Kelly

Sam Bradford wants out of Philly but the disgruntled Eagles quarterback isn’t interested in a reunion with Chip Kelly.

The Philadelphia Eagles purged their roster of as many Chip Kelly players as possible this offseason but one player they aren’t interested in moving is starting quarterback Sam Bradford.

After the Eagles made the trade with the Cleveland Browns to acquire the No. 2 pick in Thursday’s NFL Draft, Bradford was unhappy about them getting in position to draft his replacement.

Bradford demanded a trade but the Eagles have no intention of moving Bradford who they want to be their starter for 2016. There is always the possibility a quarterback-needy team like the San Francisco 49ers blowing away the Eagles with a trade proposal, but Bradford isn’t interested in a reunion with Kelly.

According to Jeff Darlington of NFL.com, not only is Bradford not interested in playing for Kelly again, he isn’t an option for the New York Jets either.

There are only so many teams in the market for a veteran quarterback now and you can cross two off the list right there. That would leave the Denver Broncos as a possibility but they were reportedly turned off by the Eagles asking price.

According to Adam Schefter, the Eagles want more than a second round pick for Bradford.

Yeah, that’s a high price to be sure. The Broncos signed Mark Sanchez in free agency and could use a draft pick to get a quarterback at the end of the first or second rounds instead of the oft-injured Bradford.

The best thing for Bradford to do is working on having a career-year in 2016 to put himself in the best position to be a wanted man next offseason with the Eagles likely turning the page and going with a youth movement under center.
