4. Freddie Mitchell

He had a few flashes of brilliance with the Philadelphia Eagles, but Freddie Mitchell’s time in the City of Brotherly Love was an epic fail. His selection with the 25th pick in the 2001 draft was a waste. Mitchell’s NFL career ended at the young age of 26, and he was a cocky football player that didn’t back up his talk off the field with his play on it.

Mitchel’s standout moment during Andy Reid’s tenure a historic play that helped the Eagles win a historic playoff game in 2004. On fourth and 26, Mitchell caught Donovan McNabb’s pass on the slant route for the first down, which led the team to a game-tying field goal. The Eagles ended up winning the game to advance to their third-straight NFC championship game, where they fell to the Carolina Panthers.

Mitchell had potential and the chance to become one of the best Eagles ever, but his career was short lived due to his bad attitude and cockiness. He was nowhere near as good as he thought he was.
