Sam Bradford’s agent upset Eagles did not honor trade demand

Sam Bradford’s agent is not happy that the Eagles didn’t let Bradford know about their plans before signing him.

When the Philadelphia Eagles signed quarterback Sam Bradford to a two-year deal worth $35 million (including $22 million guaranteed), it was assumed that the Eagles were going to make Bradford their starting quarterback for at least the immediate future. Now that the Eagles traded up to the second overall pick, Bradford has expressed his frustration and demanded a trade. As expected, Bradford’s agent isn’t too happy with the Eagles either.

“As they were making this plan, it would have been nice if they had told him about it,” said Bradford’s agent Tom Condon, via ESPN. “It’s his right to demand a trade and he wants to be traded.”

The Eagles don’t have to trade Bradford if they don’t want to. It appears that their plan was to have Bradford as their starting quarterback for at least the 2016 season and possibly the 2017 season to allow either Jared Goff or Carson Wentz to develop and learn from Bradford. However, if Bradford is going to remain uncooperative, a trade might be the only way to solve this situation.

Bradford played in 14 games for the Eagles during the 2015 season after Philadelphia traded for him in the offseason. He threw for 3,725 passing yards with 19 touchdowns and 14 interceptions. Bradford’s 19 touchdowns were the second most of his career, behind his 21 touchdowns in 2012. He also had a passer rating of 86.4 and a quarterback rating of 41.83. His 266.1 passing yards per game in 2015 were the most of his career.
