A rating of the five worst draft picks ever made by the Washington Redskins throughout their storied history
The Washington Redskins have one of the longest histories of any NFL team. They began play way back in 1932 as the Boston Braves, but five years later they relocated to the nation’s capital and took on the moniker they still are known by to this day.
During their 84-years of existence, they have made some major headlines in good ways (like their three Super Bowl wins and two NFL Championships), as well as some for negative reasons (like their recent issues with their team nickname as well as several blunders by current owner Daniel Snyder). Today we focus on some of the negative.
At least negative news in terms of some of their draft picks that blew up in their faces. Not every pick made pans out, and here we will have a countdown of the five worst mistakes ever made on draft day by the Washington Redskins.
Before we get to that wonderful list, here are some honorable mentions (if you can call it that) who just missed the cut;
Quarterback Richie Lucas Penn State, 1st round pick, 4th overall in 1960
Wide Receiver Taylor Jacobs Florida, 2nd round, 44th overall
Wide receiver Malcolm Kelly Oklahoma, wide receiver, 2nd round 51st overall
